How Do I Pay For My Therapy?

Most people have insurance that pays for their mental health care. However, many insurance plans require that a provider be on their panel, or in-network, in order to be reimbursed.

Currently, I am on one of the largest mental health panels, Optum Behavioral Health. Otherwise, I am able to accept many Preferred Provider Option (PPO) plans, accept cash (by Venmo), or check, but may not be able to bill your HMO (you’ll need to call prior to your first appointment).

Sometimes, insurance companies will approve an out of network provider on a one-time basis (‘Single Case Agreement’). Current In-Network HMO Insurance Plans I am working with: Optum, Contra Costa Behavioral Health, Contra Costa Health Plan, Magellan.

My regular fee is 150.00/session, with a sliding scale fee down to 70.00 per session based on a household income of less than 70,000 per year.

Tele-health visits are billed at the same rate as in-person visits.

Payment is due at each session.

Emergency/unscheduled appointments are available, but carry a 25% surcharge (and not usually paid by insurance). Any portion of the fee not covered under your insurance plan is payable by you.

Therapy is an investment in you, your loved ones, and your future, and can yield results of lasting value.
